Your Cinema, Your Community

SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT

Regional Screen Scotland believes cinema should be inclusive and accessible for everyone. We support Scotland’s Screen Community by connecting local exhibitors through our facebook group; providing access to relevant research, and methods of evaluation and signposting where to get the best help and advice.

Mapping Scotland’s Screen Community

Mapping Scotland’s Screen Community is a dynamic search tool where you can find and contact film exhibitors and screening venues operating in Scotland. The resource is aimed to be a picture and celebration of screen provision active prior to the UK-wide lockdown in March 2020.

A Cinema Near You

Now closed, A Cinema Near You (CNY) was a development programme that ran from June 2019 – June 2022 which aimed to improve access to screen and cinema provision in Scotland, targeting those communities where the need was greatest, and where the benefits could be most significant.

Why Cinema Matters

At Regional Screen Scotland we know that cinema matters. Watching films is good for you and your community! Our research demonstrates the personal and social benefits of having a local cinema or film society in your community. Have a look at the survey results here.

Your Social Impact

This online ‘toolkit’ will help you make the case for how much your cinema matters to your community, by measuring and understanding the social impact value you have.  It will help you improve the way that you gather information on your performance and impact.
